Brick City Theatre
Cleveland Public Theatre offers children residents of the Cuyahoga Metropolitan Housing Authority (CMHA) the opportunity to learn theatre arts through its nationally recognized program, Brick City Theatre.
Brick City Theatre partners with CMHA to offer after-school theatre programs for children ages 5-14. Through Brick City Theatre children learn how to write and perform plays, and they acquire such skills as stilt walking, puppetry, and story telling in a safe and supportive environment. This program uses theatre as a vehicle to develop self awareness, expressiveness, confidence, social skills, and basic reading and writing skills. Under the dedicated guidance of CPT Teaching Artists, children enhance academic and life skills as they develop their own plays and perform them for their community.
