All events take place at Cleveland Public Theatre’s Church, Parish Hall and surrounding area. 6205 Detroit Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44102.
Día de Muertos Altars Exhibition, Cemetery Installations & Performances 11am – 10pm
Face Painting & Crafts Workshops 11am – 2:45pm
“Skulls & Skeletons” Procession** 3:30pm – 4:15pm
**New this year: Due to the increased popularity of the procession, all participants are required to register in advance. Click here to register, or stop by the Parade Registration tent on the day of, give your name to the volunteer, and receive your parade pin. Then, join in the fun! All minors must be accompanied by an adult and student groups must be identified with a registered accompanying adult(s).
Día de Muertos (Day of the Dead) will be raising funds for victims of the earthquakes in Mexico and the hurricane in Puerto Rico.
Visit stations posted inside the Church, Parish Hall and Capitol Theatre to contribute.
Calling Home the Dead
An exclusive FREE showing of Calling Home the Dead (Llamar a los Muertos a Casa) will be held at the Capitol Theatre in conjunction with Día de Muertos Ohio. The film provides an authentic look at Día de los Muertos as practiced in Pátzcuaro, Mexico, and has been featured in many Day of the Dead programs across the country and abroad. Doors open at 10:30am; showtime is at 11am. First come, first served seating. $1 off popcorn for anyone in Day of the Dead makeup or attire! For more information, click here.
