2020/2021 Premiere Fellowship Recipients
4 local artists receive financial award and Fellowship at CPT
Cleveland, OH—Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT)’s Executive Artistic Director Raymond Bobgan is proud to announce the selection of four Northeast Ohio-based artists as 2020/2021 Premiere Fellows, made possible by dedicated funding from Cuyahoga Arts & Culture (CAC).
The purpose of the Premiere Fellowship is to celebrate, reward, and support artists who have demonstrated excellence in and are committed to new play development. CPT defines excellence as artists creating transformative and impactful experiences for their intended communities. The award is for theatre artists from multiple disciplines, including acting, directing, choreography, scriptwriting, devising playwrighting, design, and stage management. Fellows receive a financial award, plus additional fees for projects, professional development, and access to space, equipment, and other important assets needed to create their work. Each Fellowship is designed in collaboration with the Fellows.
CPT’s 2020/2021 Premiere Fellows include Ananias J Dixon, Nina Domingue, Siaara Freeman, and Toby Vera Bercovici.
STEP (STUDENT THEATRE ENRICHMENT PROGRAM) 2021 SUMMER SESSION
Cleveland Public Theatre announces STEP (Student Theatre Enrichment Program) 2021 Summer SESSION
Who: Youth Ages 14-19 (Cuyahoga County Residents)
What: As part of this eight-week summer program, 12-16 youth, ages 14-19, work together to create, produce, perform, and tour their own play. This program is the longest-running arts-based,
workplace development program in Cleveland and is an international model for engaging youth.
Since its beginning in 1994, STEP has received multiple awards and recognitions, including those
from The City of Cleveland, The President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities, and
the National Endowment for the Arts. Through STEP, teens see themselves as a positive and

CPT is seeking Teaching Artists to support and implement CPT Education programming. Theatre experience is a plus. We are looking to build a strong core of artists who are dedicated to creating work to further racial and economic justice. CPT is seeking candidates for full-time and part-time Lead Teacher, Assistant Teacher, and Teaching Artist Intern positions.
