Audition-Based Youth Theatre Program
for current 6th, 7th, and 8th graders

Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00-5:45pm
WHO
6th, 7th, and 8th graders
WHAT
Taught by Cleveland Act Now Academy Lead Teachers, Faye Hargate and Zyrece Montgomery, the fall session will explore acting fundamentals and ensemble theatre techniques with special attention on building improvisation skills and creating original performance material.

COST
This program is offered at NO COST thanks to the support of the Cleveland Foundation and other generous supporters.
ENROLL
All youth must participate fully in one audition and then be selected by Lead Teaching Artists for admittance into session. Enrollment is capped at 20 young artists per session.

Thurs, Oct 10, 4 – 6pm

Sat, Oct 19, 10am – 12pm

What to prepare
Prepare a 1-2 minute performance (monologue, poem, dance, rap, song, etc.)
**We conduct group auditions, and youth must be able to stay for the whole audition time frame. We request that a guardian or caregiver is present for the first 30 minutes of the audition. If this is not possible, contact Faye Hargate.
SPECIAL DAYS
- Thurs, Nov 28 – no class
- Tues, Dec 17 – extended class until 7:00pm for Family Presentation Sharing. Friends and family are invited to attend!
ATTENDANCE POLICY
- Once admitted, young artist may miss one class with prior approval.
- Youth must arrive no later than 4:25pm to successfully participate.
PICK-UP POLICY
- Youth must be picked up between 5:45pm and 6:00pm.
An approved adult must sign out for young artist.
