Mother/Tongue
Written by Claire Robinson May
Directed by Danielle Hisey
Workaholic mother Margot obsessively prepares Julia Child’s 1960’s-era beef tongue recipe, vanishes for hours, and starts speaking only French. Her two teenagers keep their own secrets as they struggle in the shadow of parental expectations, and no one is talking. Margot’s husband Tom, mother-in-law Beverly, and best friend Jane try to slice and dice to the heart (or is it the tongue?) of the matter – and dinner is served. Mother/Tongue serves up isolation, communication, motherhood, food and love. Bon appetit!
Bon Voyage, mon Oie (Goodbye, my Goose)
Written by Tara Broeckel Ooten
Directed by Michael Sepesy
Terrified by the natural world, barricaded in their home, alienated from each other, two brothers, Loch and Rood, go about the ritual of their daily lives. Bon Voyage, mon Oie is an absurd look at the story of two shut-ins who, despite their fear of the outside world, each attempt to overcome social paralysis in their own way as they struggle with the meaning of life, language, and the difficult circumstances that accompany illness.
