The trip was arranged by The Council of International Programs USA (CIPUSA), a non-profit international exchange program, and the Turkish Arts for Peace Program. The goal of the trip was to use CPT’s STEP program as a model for developing a youth arts program to marginalized youth in Turkey.
In addition to Raymond Bobgan, other attendees included Kathleen Cerveny, program director for arts and culture at The Cleveland Foundation; Marsha Dobryzynski, executive director of the Cleveland chapter of Young Audiences; Tony Sias, Director of Arts Education for the Cleveland Metropolitan School District, local theatre artist and educator and Director of CPT’s In the Continuum; Ismail Douglas, a Capoeira dance expert and coordinator of Cleveland schools’ Motivation Through Excellence program, and Lisa Purdy of CIPUSA.
