DEADLINE EXTENDED: CPT Announces 2017/2018 Local Request for Season Proposals

We are extending the deadline for submission for the 17-18 season.

Typically over half of CPT’s season is locally created work! Let us know your ideas by February 20th!

Dear Northeast Ohio artists,

CPT is planning the 2017-2018 Season, and once again we are reaching out to you for great ideas.

CPT is focused on new work that is surprising, unexpected and somehow outside the realm of conventional theatre.

Please send your proposals electronically to CPT’s Executive Artistic Director Raymond Bobgan at rbobgan@cptonline.org. See complete instructions below.

CPT is looking for proposals from Northeast Ohio artists for complete projects. Proposals may be from directors or playwrights for world premieres, second or third US productions, radical re-envisionings of classic plays or other projects.

The show could be your own show or a script you would like to work on.

Based on the success of past co-productions and our New Play Development series, we are also interested in creating opportunities for artists and groups that would like to retain greater ownership of projects and who can share risk with CPT.

CPT Announces Kulas Foundation Theatre Composer Initiative Application

CPT’s Kulas Foundation Theatre Composer Initiative

Application

Deadline for Application is

Monday, December 5th, 2016

In anticipation of the renewal of this grant, CPT is now accepting applications for The Kulas Foundation Theatre Composer fellowships. The Kulas Foundation Theatre Composer Initiative is a six month fellowship program providing early-career composers with first-hand experience creating music and sound design for theatre.

This initiative engages composer/designers in a collaborative process under the guidance of the show producer and director to compose and produce original music for full productions and works-in-development in CPT’s Season and to learn about other parts of the creative and production process of theatre. Composers gain hands-on learning experiences through sound design opportunities.

The program is intended to significantly grow CPT’s capacity for developing original music and sound design, and to support the growth and emergence of local artists.

In order to ensure the development of work past this residency, both the composer and Cleveland Public Theatre will own full rights to composed materials developed through the Theatre Composer Initiative. Read More ›

Launched in 2008, Creative Fusion is an international artist residency program that has brought more than 70 artists from around the world to Cleveland. This year, the program is evolving to pair a local artist with a visiting international artist at each of the host arts organizations. Each of the cohorts will also now share a single theme. The Fall 2016 cohort has been dubbed, “Street Art Edition.” Read More ›
