Here are just a few of the extraordinary productions that have graced our stage:"Akarui"—a haunting take on transformation and love set in a rave at the end of the world—by Jen Silverman, recipient of a Yale Drama Series Award, plus National Endowment for the Arts and Guggenheim Fellowships.Lauren Yee's "in a word," which follows a grief-stricken mother as she sorts through her memories. Samuel French published "in a word" in 2015, and the play has been staged in California, Florida, Illinois, New York, Virginia, Texas, and London, England. Yee also won the Francesca Primus Prize and the Will Glickman Playwright Award for "in a word."India Nicole Burton's "Panther Women: An Army for the Liberation," a piece that utilizes movement, monologue, and music to tell the story of one woman’s journey to self-discovery through exploring three prominent female members of the Black Panther Party and Black Liberation Movement.
