Most recently at CPT, Jimmie Woody played Preston Walker in Nikkole Salter’s Breakout Session (or Frogorse), and he performed his one-man show Tale of a Gemini (Jimini) Rising at Test Flight 2018. Other local credits include Brucie in Lynn Nottage’s Sweat at Cleveland Play House, Cholly in The Bluest Eye at Karamu House, Macbeth in Voodoo Macbeth at Ensemble Theater, Julio in The Mother F**ker with the Hat at Dobama Theatre, and Booth in Topdog/Underdog at Beck Center for the Arts. His New York credits include Hollis in Hollis Mugley’s Only Wish at Joseph Papp Public Theater (directed by Robert O’Hara), The Spaniard in Cymbeline at New Shakespeare Festival, and Azdak in The Caucasian Chalk Circle at La Mama ETC (directed by Andrei Serban). Jimmie received his MFA in acting from Columbia University. He is a 2012 Creative Workforce Fellow in theatre and recipient of CPT’s 2019/2020 Premiere Fellowship.
