Week #7: February 26 – 28

Hum

In Hum, four characters gently weave their disparate narratives. A letter from a long-forgotten ex-girlfriend, a monster in the backyard, a math lesson, and a road trip to the Ohio Caverns. Four very different stories with one ominous, unifying thread.

“Apparently Dan was just gone. He hadn’t left a note or anything and he just wasn’t there. Vanished. And so I suggested Randall take a look to see if Dan’s car was still there, but Randall said Dan always got a ride, and poor Randall. He just didn’t know what to do.”

Sebastian Hawkes Orr graduated from Denison University in 2007 with a B.A. in Theatre. He has performed in a number of plays, includingApproaching Zanzibar, Room Service, Hamlet, andHomebody/Kabul. He played Robert in Company, Malvolio in Twelfth Night, Guildenstern in Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, and Thom Pain in Thom Pain (based on nothing). His Cleveland credits include the roles of Nick in Ensemble Theatre’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Philo Farnsworth in the Beck Center for the Arts’ The Farnsworth Invention, and Elyot Chase in Lakeland Civic Theater’s Private Lives. Though he spends most of his theatrical time on the stage, he has dabbled in direction, production, and playwriting.Hum is his first full-length script.
