DEADLINE TO APPLY: July 16, 2018
Description of Position
The Artistic Programs Producer reports to the Executive Artistic Director as a year-round, salaried, staff position working well over 40 hours a week. Salary is competitive based on comparable theatres nationally and is commensurate with experience. Some benefits included.
The Artistic Programs Producer provides production, artistic, managerial, and operational support to: CPT’s season of full productions; four developmental series; Pandemonium (a massive annual event); Station Hope (a one-day social justice festival); as well as other artistic projects and productions. The Artistic Programs Producer may also play a managerial or leadership role with CPT’s Teatro Público de Cleveland and/or Masrah Cleveland Al-Arabi.
The Artistic Programs Producer is expected to work as an artist at CPT and to continue their own artistic growth.
Candidates must have two years of full-time theatre work in artistic and/or production departments or equivalent (as a contractor or parallel work in education departments). Experience in producing plays is important and experiences in new play development and production management are recommended. The successful candidate will have a track record of successful artistic leadership with and in communities of color. They will be collaborative, eager to learn new ways of working, service-oriented, and highly self-motivated. Candidate must possess excellent logistics skills, and have the ability to create warm, exciting, empowering community experiences.
CPT cares passionately about reflecting our community and pursuing diversity at all levels of the organization. CPT has a demanding work environment with long, intense hours, but we have fun and love what we do! We value hard work, kindness, generosity, passion, and grace-under-pressure. For applicants considering relocation to Cleveland: our city is an excellent community to live in, with top-notch arts and culture, a vibrant theatre scene, beautiful public parks, a great lake, and VERY affordable housing.
