CLEVELAND PUBLIC THEATRE IS LOOKING FOR A DIGITAL STRATEGY MANAGER

Cleveland Public Theatre (CPT) is hiring a Digital Strategy Manager with at least two years of experience who will be an integral part of the Audience Engagement team which includes the Director of Audience Engagement & Marketing (DAEM) and a Graphic Designer. The DSM will work with the DAEM to create digital marketing campaigns, create and deploy weekly eblasts, update the website, create social media posts and other duties as assigned while exemplifying CPT’s brand and mission.

Job Description:

The Digital Strategy Manager is a salaried staff position reporting to the Director of Audience Engagement & Marketing (DAEM) who is an integral part of helping to reach department goals of building audience and expanding the reach of CPT artistic and education programming, and fundraising efforts regionally and nationwide. CPT is less interested in “ticket sales” than in bringing together the many communities of the Greater Cleveland.

The DSM is responsible for supporting CPT audience engagement and marketing activities and initiatives through email, social media, website, more. The position also works inter-departmentally to create audience engagement materials for all departments and events. It also works with the DAEM to create audience engagement and marketing initiatives for CPT’s internal companies Teatro Público de Cleveland, Masrah Cleveland Al-Arabi and CORE Cleveland.

The ideal candidate is a storyteller and patient project manager with digital expertise, outstanding writing, proofreading/editing, and communication skills. The position requires strong organizational abilities, patience and flexibility, attention to detail, a passion for the arts, the mission of CPT, and a desire to grow and learn new skills. The successful candidate will be collaborative and able to work alone, imaginative, organized, adaptable, able to take initiative, and have experience working with a diverse range of constituents. Candidate should have an associate or bachelor’s degree in digital marketing, marketing and/or at least two years of related experience.

Responsibilities (Include the following and other duties as assigned)

  • Develop robust content-rich materials for CPT’s patron emails, manage distribution of electronic newsletter and pre/post-show patron emails.
  • Create and update website content.
  • Work with DAEM to create a marketing calendar for the season.
  • Drive social media across multiple platforms including paid marketing and recording and leveraging statistics.
  • Create and execute online campaigns in collaboration with the Director of Audience Engagement & Marketing.
  • Work with the Graphic Designer to create marketing collateral for digital use.
  • Proof marketing materials with the AE team and other departments on occasion.
  • Provide support and assistance to the Director of Audience Engagement & Marketing for audience engagement initiatives and other duties related to audience development, and the marketing of CPT productions and events.
  • Take photos and cell phone video for CPT at opening weekends, community meetings, and promotional events (some nights and weekends are required).
  • Nurture and develop relationships with artists, vendors, and community partners. This could include interviewing artists and staff for behind-the-scenes features for upcoming shows and initiatives.
  • Coordinate photo and film shoots; and catalog archival photos and video.
  • Maintain archives of online press reviews and features.
  • Research and implement new methods of reaching audiences.
  • Create marketing reports on social media and email metrics.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

  • E-newsletter creation and delivery, familiarity with e-newsletter platforms, WordPress and/or basic HTML.
  • Social media savvy including utilizing and reporting on social media analytics.
  • Project Management
  • Writing and content creation
  • Exceptional proofing skills
  • Digital video editing.
  • Deadline-driven and able to manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously.
  • InDesign, Canva, and/or Adobe Illustrator, Vimeo, SEO & CRM methods.

Valued Skills

  • CPT is home to Teatro Público de Cleveland and Masrah Cleveland Al-Arabi; thus, fluency in Spanish or Arabic would be a huge plus.
  • Database or Customer Relationship Management.
  • Experience with digital content creation (i.e. motion graphic development, video editing, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with Spektrix, DotDigital, GoMedia, Metricool (or other social media organizing software).
