DESCRIPTION of POSITION
The Full-Time Teaching Artist/Site Manager works closely with and reports directly to Director of Community Ensembles/Brick City Theatre Program Director. This position is a year-round, full-time staff position, with a salary that is competitive with theatre teaching artist salaries locally and nationally. Benefits included.
The position requires a highly motivated and organized individual who will take on management, administrative, creative, and teaching responsibilities in support of CPT’s flagship education program, Brick City Theatre, and Cleveland Act Now, which offer afterschool and summer theatre arts education to children ages 5-14 who reside in Cleveland neighborhoods and public housing. Based on experience and training time, the Full-Time Teaching Artist/Site Manager will ultimately be the director and leader of two program sites.
The desire and creativity to create warm, exciting, empowering community experiences for our program’s participants and families is foundational for this role. The successful candidate will have a track record of successful artistic leadership with and in communities of color.
The successful candidate will be collaborative, eager to learn, obsessed with working in the theatre, and have experience in administration, education, and performance. Successful candidates will have strong administrative skills (Office Suite: Excel, Office, PowerPoint), producing skills, and teaching skills (theatre curriculum vision and meeting Ohio state standards; teaching theatre to children and adults with little or no previous exposure to the arts; collaborative teaching models and teacher mentorship; and classroom management.)
The successful candidate will bring their talent and discipline to Brick City Theatre, proposing and implementing programming that supports the greater goals and vision of the program.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Full-Time Teaching Artist/Site Manager will be responsible for directing and running two program sites. This includes – but is not limited to – curriculum development; performance creation and playwriting; creating and organizing family workshops and field trips; conducting guardian-teacher conferences; teaching Brick City classes; management of teaching assistants; implementing program evaluations; and providing other leadership and support as needed. Reliable transportation is needed.
The Full-Time Teaching Artist/Site Manager will also contribute their skills, energy, and talents to the larger organization. Opportunities for continued support as a theatre artist within the organization are available. This includes – but is not limited to – performance and production support on main stage shows as well as community events: Station Hope, Road to Hope, Pandemonium; and other staff-wide activities.
