Created and Directed by Meredith L. King
Bipolar Mixtape is a scripted work with music where a black female protagonist navigates interactions with the eccentrics in her community, while the audience views this journey through the lens of her bipolar brain.
ABOUT ENTRY POINT
Entry Point will be a weekend festival of raw art-in-progress—a platform for artists to develop new work that is in early stages of creation. Public presentations during the festival will range from staged readings to presenting short segments of a new work to open rehearsals of the creation process – all in different spaces throughout the CPT campus. For example, audience members may see a staged reading in one space, then see a segment of a devised work in another space, and then close out their evening by hanging out in a casual lounge to share their experiences with fellow audience members and artists.
Auditions
When: Tuesday, December 12th, 6-9pm and Wednesday, December 13th, 6-9pm
Where: CPT’s Campus (6415 Detroit Ave)
Auditions are by appointment only. Actors will be asked to sing a short a cappella song of their choosing and will be given sides at the audition for cold readings. Please bring 1 copy of your headshot and resume, if available, or recent picture. Actors should be prepared to stay for 90 minutes.
Entry Point will need the following commitment:
- Entry Point will take place from Thursday, January 18th through Saturday, January 20th.
- Rehearsals prior to performance vary with each Entry Point project: some may require as many as 3 weeks of rehearsal and some may require as little as 9 hours. Be prepared to share your availability on your audition form at your scheduled audition.
AEA contracts will not be considered. Non AEA actors will receive a very small stipend.
Interested actors should schedule an appointment with New Play Associate, Andrew Valdez by email only: avaldez@cptonline.org. When scheduling your audition, you must provide your preferred date/time and phone number. Please do not call. Appointments will only be made via email.
