Job Announcement:
Paid Bartending Position at Cleveland Public Theatre
Cleveland Public Theatre needs bartenders who are passionate about the arts, about Cleveland and about positive change in their community. Beyond being responsible for selling refreshments to our patrons, our bartenders are expected to be knowledgeable about Cleveland Public Theatre, our performances and programs, and our neighborhood, the Gordon Square Arts District.
Bartenders sell wine, beer, other beverages and merchandise to our patrons; balance and reconcile nightly receipts against inventory; and stock and display merchandise in an orderly manner. Bartenders are expected to arrive 75 minutes prior to the performance for set-up and to begin serving drinks forty-five minutes prior to the performance and during intermission.
Applicants must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds and must have cash-handling, drawer-reconciliation, and credit card-handling experience. Bartending, serving and customer service experience are preferred.
Hours will depend on production schedules, but will involve Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday evenings for approximately 4 hours per night between October and June. Bartenders may also be asked to work special events and occasional Sundays. Employment beyond June may be considered, resuming in early October.
Pay is $8.10/hour, with a minimum of 4 hour shifts.
