A Festival of New Play Readings

Cleveland Public Theatre and Teatro Público de Cleveland are holding open auditions for our fall production of ¡OBRAS EN EVOLUCIÓN 2018! A Festival of New Play Readings. All Northeast Ohio actors who identify as Latino/a/x are encouraged to audition. Multiple roles will be cast.

AUDITION

When: Monday, September 17, 6:00pm – 9:00pm

Where: Cleveland Public Theatre (6415 Detroit Ave. Cleveland, OH 44102) – The Storefront Studio

Auditions are by appointment only and will be scheduled in 1 hour increments. Actors do not need to prepare a monologue. Actors will be given scenes to read. AEA contracts will not be considered for this project. When scheduling your audition, please provide your preferred time and phone number. Interested actors should schedule an appointment by emailing CPT at auditions@cptonline.org.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Cleveland Public Theatre and Teatro Público de Cleveland present a workshop series of new scripts and scenes written by local Latino artists. Experience work-in-progress plays as actors and directors make bold choices with scripts in hand! In 2013 Cleveland Public Theatre launched Teatro Público de Cleveland. Teatro Público de Cleveland is a collective of Latino theatre artists, and produces performances that preserve and promote the cultures of Cleveland Latinos for Spanish-speaking audiences and the broader public.

Teatro Público de Cleveland inspires inter/intra cultural exchange through thought-provoking bilingual storytelling and performance that fosters social consciousness and builds community. TPC is committed to identifying, developing, celebrating, and inspiring Cleveland Latino artists to share their experiences, cultures, perspectives, and talents. Collaborating on the artistic continuum, Teatro Público de Cleveland welcomes amateur to experienced artists who share a common language regardless of cultural origin.

En el año 2013 Cleveland Public Theatre, lanza la agrupación Teatro Público de Cleveland. Teatro Público de Cleveland es un colectivo Latino de artistas de Teatro, y produce actuaciones que preservan y promueven las culturas de los Latinos de Cleveland para audiencias hispanoparlantes y el público en general.

El Teatro Público de Cleveland inspira intercambio intra y transcultural a través del narraciones de estimulantes historias bilingues y actuaciones que fomentan la conciencia social y crean comunidad. El TPC está comprometido a identificar, desarrollar, celebrar e inspirar a los artistas Latinos de Cleveland a que compartan sus experiencias, culturas, perspectivas, y talentos.
