Dado el clima político, los miembros del Teatro Público de Cleveland sienten que es imperativo abordar y mostrar solidaridad con nuestra comunidad.

Nuestro objetivo como colectivo teatral es ser por y para nuestra gente, contar nuestras propias historias y representar la diversidad de lo que significa ser latino/latina/latiné en los EE.UU. Ahora debemos reiterar nuestro compromiso con nuestros valores fundamentales de impactar la conciencia social y la justicia mientras el miedo y el odio contra nuestra comunidad continúan aumentando sin un final a la vista. No es suficiente ser un colectivo latino solo por su nombre y debemos usar las herramientas que tenemos para continuar el camino hacia adelante.

Nuestro arte es resistencia. Nuestras voces, unidas, son nuestro poder. Nos dedicamos nuevamente a crear teatro y programación impactante para brindarle a nuestra comunidad representación y oportunidades, que a veces se nos niegan, trabajando como creativos en un mundo racista.

Teatro Público de Cleveland condena las redadas de ICE que están provocando pánico en todo Ohio y en todo nuestro país. Condenamos el esfuerzo selectivo de la administración Trump para atacar, perfilar y criminalizar a la comunidad latina/latina/latiné en general por el simple hecho de existir.

Usaremos nuestros recursos para compartir toda la información que podamos para ayudar a nuestra comunidad a conocer sus derechos y, lo más importante, a saber que no están solos.

Todo el poder para la gente. Somos Latinos Unidos.

Given the current political climate, the members of Teatro Público de Cleveland feel it is imperative to address and show solidarity with our community.

Our goal as a theater collective is to be by and for nuestra gente, to tell our own stories, and to represent the diversity and nuances of what it means to be Latino/Latina/Latiné in the United States of America. We must now reiterate our commitment to our core values of seeking to impact social consciousness and justice; as fear-mongering and hate against our community continues to rise with no end in sight. It is not enough to be a Latiné collective in namesake only, we must use the tools we have to continue the path forward.

Our art is resistance. Our voices, when unified, are our power. We rededicate ourselves to creating impactful theater and programming; to give our community representation and opportunities, that we are often denied, working as creatives in a racist world.

Teatro Público de Cleveland condemns the ICE raids that are inducing panic throughout Ohio and throughout our nation. We condemn the targeted effort of the Trump administration to attack, profile, and criminalize the Latino/Latina/Latiné community at large for simply existing.

We will use our resources to disperse whatever information we can to help our community know their rights, and most importantly, to know that they are not alone.
